Sofi is a mobile loan application service that saves tech-savvy Indonesian employees time and effort. It allows users to move away from the tiresome offline process of applying for a loan and transition to a seamless mobile experience of doing the same without all the headaches typically associated with loans.

Sofi came to us with an ambitious and interesting project to fill a niche on the Indonesian market. Small loans (such as payday loans) are very popular in Indonesia, but they are mostly handled by the employers and not financial institutions. This system isn’t safe for businesses, because they take the whole financial risk on themselves. The loans are also very inefficient due to the use of paper contracts and documentation.
STX Next provided a complete platform for the companies and employees. Our solution was tailored to improve the existing service and establish Sofi as a financial institution. We created a reliable, modern Android app for the employees that simplifies the whole loan application process. Every action is secure and cataloged.
Challenges like the Sofi startup are always satisfying, invaluable experiences that pay off in the end. Knowing that all the effort we put into the app could change someone’s life for the better helped me engage in the work to the fullest. Fintech projects in particular require not just software engineering expertise, but also an analytical approach, which is a great self-development boost.
