Project Details

One of the biggest challenges for the pharmacy industry in the Netherlands is that more and more medication is temporarily or permanently unavailable.

The Farmanco platform gives KNMP employees the ability to maintain information about shortages.

Challenge

The goal was to create a viable product that would help KNMP manage shortages and inform specialists about supply forecasts. The ambitious goal was to be completed within a fixed price/fixed scope project. Despite very thorough documentation, the final product needed to evolve to fit the needs of the end users.

For me the most interesting part is the level of responsibility. This project is being developed by quite a small team with everyone focusing on different parts of the stack. The fact that we started from scratch gave us opportunity to introduce the newest technologies.

STX Next used the Scrum framework to ensure a proper feedback loop and increased cooperation with the end users. We started by building a ‘walking skeleton’ version of the project, to make it usable after just a few iterations.
